Ahmed Janahi
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Chief Airport Operations Officer
Ahmed Janahi joined Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) in 2021, bringing over two decades of leadership experience in aviation operations, safety management, and strategic transformation across leading regional carriers. He is recognized for his commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and advancing Bahrain International Airport’s standing as a world-class hub.
Before assuming his current position, he served as Vice President of Airport Operations and Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, guiding performance, safety, crisis management, and stakeholder coordination.
Earlier, Ahmed played a pivotal role in transforming Oman Air and contributed to Gulf Air’s global operations restructuring and fleet modernization. He has served on the Boards of Bahrain Airport Services and Sabre Travel Network Middle East and completed executive programs with leading aviation institutions, reinforcing his expertise in operational strategy, safety culture, and organizational leadership.

Mohamed Al Khenaizi
Chief Commercial Officer
Mohamed AlKhenaizi is a seasoned aviation executive with over two decades of experience in driving commercial growth, strategic information, and operational excellence at leading international airports. Joining Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) as Chief Commercial Officer in 2025, he previously spent 16 years at Dubai Airports, where he held key leadership roles in Commercial, Strategy and Operations.
As Head of Commercial Planning & Business Support, Mohamed was instrumental in shaping the airport’s commercial strategy and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. At BAC, Mohamed will lead the company’s commercial transformation agenda, focusing on aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams, airline partnerships, and retail development.
Mohamed holds an MBA in Aviation Management (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (High Honors), combining analytical rigor with strategic insight to enhance Bahrain International Airport’s position as a leading regional hub.

Lionnel Maugis
Chief Development and Technical Officer
Lionnel Maugis has 30 years of global experience in airport management, strategic consulting, and capital project delivery. Holding leadership roles over the past decade at the French Civil Aviation Authority with Egis and Paris Airport Group (ADPI), he also served in executive positions at Maldives and Sofia Airports, leading major capital development programs and overseeing compliance as the accountable manager.
He has advised institutions like Eurocontrol, the European Commission, ASECNA, and ECAC on aviation safety and security. Since 2008, he has been involved in GCC airport development, including as Resident Project Manager for the Bahrain Airport Modernization Program.

Ali Rashed
Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer
Ali Rashed joined Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) in 2017, where he has focused on enhancing customer service and travel experiences through efficient, safe, and timely airport operations that meet regulatory requirements and align with international best practices.
In 2025, he was appointed Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of BAC, providing strategic guidance and insights in areas such as stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, crisis management, and industry trends. In this capacity, Ali supports the CEO in advancing BAC’s strategic transformation agenda, strengthening coordination with government and regulatory entities, and driving operational and service excellence across the company. He also advises on major capital projects, operational readiness, and the implementation of safety and security initiatives that uphold Bahrain International Airport’s global standards.
With 27 years of international experience across various aviation sectors — including Etihad Airways, Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), British Airways, and Gulf Air — Ali has consistently demonstrated operational excellence and leadership. He received the Station Award for achieving a world record in on-time performance with zero shipped baggage, along with multiple recognition for his professional performance and personal achievements.

Leena Faraj
Vice President - Corporate Strategy and Support
Leena Faraj has over 20 years of experience in strategy, human capital development, and organizational transformation across aviation, financial services, and economic development sectors. She oversees Bahrain Airport Company’s corporate strategy, driving performance and cross-organizational alignment while strengthening governance and shaping long-term priorities.
Before joining BAC, Leena held key roles at American Express, Arab Insurance Group, and Bahrain Economic Development Board. Her work includes managing restructuring programs, optimization initiatives, and national development projects, along with contributions to international aviation bodies.
Leena serves as Vice Chair of the Economic Committee for Airport Council International (ACI) and holds advisory roles with ICAO & IATA. Her extensive board experience in corporate and international advisory settings provides her with a grounded perspective on governance and strategic planning.
