Launch of the Get Airports Ready for Disasters (GARD) Workshops

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) launched the five-day Get Airports Ready for Disasters (GARD) workshops at Bahrain International Airport (BIA).

More than 40 experts from government entities, airport authorities, emergency services, and international partners are joining forces to strengthen BIA’s preparedness and ensure the airport can serve as a lifeline in times of crisis.

Implemented in collaboration with, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, Ministry of Interior, UNDP and DHL Group, the GARD programme has been introduced in over 60 airports across 30 countries, and Bahrain is now proudly part of this global network of disaster-ready airports.

This initiative reflects BAC’s commitment to safety, resilience, and operational excellence, reinforcing Bahrain’s leadership in aviation readiness and emergency response.
