Bahrain International Airport ready to welcome influx of summer and Hajj travelers

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operating and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), held a high-level meeting with key airport stakeholders to review preparations for welcoming an influx of passengers traveling through BIA for Hajj and summer vacations. In attendance were representatives from BIA stakeholders. They discussed expected passenger numbers and peak durations as well as resource allocation requirements to ensure BIA’s readiness.
BAC Chief Airport Operation, Ali Rashid M said: “Summer is one of the busiest periods for BIA, with scores of passengers traveling to and from Bahrain. Working closely with our stakeholders, we have finalized all preparations to welcome them and ensure they enjoy a safe, seamless, and hassle-free travel experience. In 2022, BIA welcomed 6.9 million passengers, a 127.5 percent jump from 3 million in 2021, This data points to an even stronger recovery in 2023 and, with passenger traffic on the rise this summer, we are fully prepared to meet the needs of BIA’s guests.”
In a joint statement, BIA’s stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to providing the highest levels of service, saying: “In coordination with BAC, we will increase the number of staff at BIA to meet the evolving needs of travelers during the coming season, ensuring the provision of high-quality services to meet their requirements. By increasing the number of staff stationed at BIA, less time will be required to complete administrative procedures and support customers, maintaining the standards the airport is known for. This coordination and synergy between stakeholders reflect our joint commitment to improving the passenger experience.”
